well... here it is at last!.. Eid (25/11)... and for the third time, i'll celebrate it away from my family... arrrghhhhh.... getting into sentimental mood... isk isk... sacrifices need to be made... i know... but easier said than done... hmm... just remembered the old raya song by M Nasir..

that's just some of it... put together all the raya songs and all the thoughts... that's me with Eid Blues... whoaaaaaaa... better go to sleep to mentally release myself form this blues... but of course... no public holiday here for Eid... so... stuck with all the works that never seems to get anywhere!!.. oh God... please... please help me finish all the work in time... amen..

been to the nottingham's games for the third time around... a hatrick!!... heh... this time around... i played netball... leeds sent 2 teams this year but unfortunately... we didn't win... hehe... to be honest... i don't mind at all... just like playing around and having good fun!... winning would just be a bonus... i never play sports professionally or seriously enuff to be chosen in school team etc etc... and i must admit i'm no good or expert on any of 'em... and most likely... i don't like the pressure having to perform and win all the time... but i do enjoy playing all sort of games... netball, basketball, volleyball, badminton, tennis... it's all good fun... anyway... sronok gi notts again... jumpak kengkawan lama di samping knowing new people in leeds better...

heh... actually this year i have to crash in and be the secretary of leeds university malaysian society (lumsoc) because the supposedly secretary decided to do a year out... work training back in malaysia... heh... mmg ade tendency betul for me to be bidan terjun... anyway... just help around and it's not a big group anyway... about 30++ members?? so... get extra responsibility this year and this is the first 'real' trip i organised under lumsoc... heh... before this ade la tour of university trip for the new students... bla bla bla... welcoming party... makan makan sket... but this is the first main trip... we never had things like this before... coz the numbers of undergraduates are very minimal for the last two years i've been here... plus the fact that i actually have been travelling out of leeds quite a number of times during these last two years... heh... up north in belfast... down south in wales.... gi tengok tempat kengkawan lain di uk ini... and plus another fact that there is also malaysian singaporean society (massoc) who organises the trip to alton towers anually... heh.. not to clash with them purposedly... we decided to have a trip on our own this year coz we have enough members to fill into a bus this time around... hehe... sounds pathetic pulak... well... in the end sume sronok and enjoy themselves there though the winter air starts creeping in by this time...

we stayed mostly in brussels, but also visited ghent and brugges in belgium...
hmm... just discovered that the cartoon 'tin tin' is very famous and originated somewhere here... see the famous manequin of a boy weeing in public... 'manekin pis' i think is the name... see lots of other things... mainly sight seeing... enjoying the walk by the ever so many cannals here... kinda like the rooftop of the building here... looks like steps... cool...  oh ya... one more thing... seeing how they make the lace by hand... also visited the atomium and the mini europe... cool miniatures of all significant buildings in europe...

while we're in york

hmm... after being in spain with friends not knowing how to speak spanish... i gain more confident to travel around and this time around... not knowing to speak even a word in french... i took the liberty of being a tour guide by myself and bringing my parents, pakndak and makndak to paris... hehe... ... now thinking of it... i must be crazy!!! 
hmm... i do make the plan a lot earlier... i booked the accomodation on the net... and read about paris from the Let's Go Europe as well as AA Paris... we get to paris with the Eurostar from the waterloo station in london... and it's quite a bargain actually when i bought the tickets for the four of us... yiepieeeeeeeeee...  ..... plus it is comfortable enough for me to sleep all the way though ayah did wake me up when we're actually under the water... hehe... being impressed with the whole idea of crossing the channel tunnel in a train...
anyway, with my lack of french and my first time around in paris, we manage to go to the eifel tower twice... ... we get on top of the tower once and catch the magical light show at another time... so guys.. if you ever went there... try not to miss being at the foot of the eifel tower by sunset cause that is the only time they have this light show... probably lasting for about 10 minits only... we visit the highest point in paris, the sacre cour... we went to the musee of louvre as well but to no luck... it's closed... my fault though... ... not checking the opening times... heh.. don't do that guys!!!
but what's best it being around the people you love... mak, ayah, pak ndak n mak ndak were here since 13th July 2003... to be quite frank... i am impressed of myself being able to bring them around paris and london by the public transport... it is an achievement and i'm proud to have been able to entertain my own families... i don't want them to worry about the trip... or about me being so far away from home... and i do think that i has proven them that i am independent... and probably the trip did worth it all because they get to see with their own eyes that their young daughter has grown up...

well... i made it to spain at last... this is my first trip into the European countries... we planned this trip for quite some time and it turns out to be one of my best experiences and memories... there were 6 of us alltogether... 
we had such a great time there... we even slept for 12 hours on the bus in one of the journey from barcelona to granada... gosh!!!... add another hour and we're back in malaysia... but hey... we're on a budget and that way... we manage to save a couple of nights' accomodation... hahaha...  ... with sore butt along...
anyway, we started from barcelona, to granada, to sevilla, to cordoba, to madrid... and back to barcelona... this 8 days trip (24th June to 2nd July 2003) is certainly worth it!! seen so many beautiful places and mesmerised by the different language... it's actually not that difficult to talk in spanish as most are pronounced exactly like how it was spelled... heh... but i'm no pro i must admit... and here is a tribute i wrote for a friend of mine who actually had a website of her own...
hmmm... just can't wait for my next tour... 
tRIbUte tO tHe tRIp wE hAd...
It had been fun, enjoyable and great trips for us!! most of us have been together in both trips, to Spain and Belgium. And it is my honour to contribute this little piece of thought for a friend of my, Che Yah!! =P
We had all the laughter, all the fun and all the joy that we could possibly hope for throughout the trips... and not to forget all the wonderful experiences, which I believed we would all cherished forever... I am sure all of us built some confidence as well as shaping our personality throughout this whole experience (especially Che Yah, even menaging to speak Spanish!!... ahaks), but not to forget... it had also strengthened our friendships... We do have some bad times, bitter experiences... but as one may put it... the bitterness will make the sweetness of tomorrow felt even sweeter...
Just as a little tribute, here are a few of the moments we had throughout our trips...
We started from Stanstead Airport, London where we found Che Yah in a baggage shop..
"Eh.. cam kenal je minah nih" kate Yat..
"Mane?? Mane??" kate Wada pula...
"Hehe... Che Yah rupanya," kata Alia...
"CHE YAH!!!!!" panggil kami bertiga...
Sementelahan itu juga Che Yah menoleh, terkejut sedikit seraya berkate, "Aku lapar" (sambil membuat muke bersalah...) Aiyaaaa minahhh... mane la ade orang cari makanan kat kedai bag!!! sah sah nak cover cubaanye bershopping handbag... eheheh... terkantoi plak tu... =D
And then another one...
"Korang sume... cepat buat gaya matrix... aku nak shoot".. arah Che Yah yang sedang keciwi a.k.a excited dengan camera digital SONY yang baru dibelinya...
"Nek enes... tade keje ke ape??"Â?... antara reply yang dilemparkan kengkawan lain...
"Alaa... tak kire... cepat laa..." pinta Che Yah lagi sambil menekan nekan punat kamera digital barunya itu dan mengacu acu kameranye untuk mendapatkan angle terbaik...
"Ha Che Yah... tu Fizah dah banguun... nak buat gaya matrix" kedengaran satu suara menyahut...
"Ok..ok... Ni aku buat gaya matrix ni Che Yah... cepat shoot!!" dan lantas Fizah yang kebetulan sedang bangun menyidai towel lantas beraksi....
Tidak lame kemudian.... "MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA" gelak beramai ramai....
"Fuiyooooo.... matrix siuttt..." ...
"Power aaa.... gaya melambai matrix tuu..."
"Perghhh... slow motion siap..." ... Antara suara suara yang kedengaran diselang seli tawa beramai ramai....Dan begitulah... di suatu malam yang panjang.... kami telah mengabihkan mase dengan menghabiskan bateri kamera Che Yah merakamkan aksi aksi santai yang sensasi selain bergilir gilir memasak maggi, mee goreng segera dan membuat kopi...
And one of Che Yah quotes that I really like....
"Yatttttttttt..... adik aku pun tade yang jahat (ke nakal eh??) cam ko nih!!.... isk isk"
hehehe... Sori Che Yah... tapi mmg best aa ngade ngade ngan ko.... ahaks... saba gile Che Yah ni.... bley dapat anugerah kakak mithali la... (maapkan lah aku ye kalo aku buat ko annoyed sesangat throughout all the trips we had!..) =D
So... that is some of the memories that I managed to put in words.... to lists all of it would be impossible as we all share lots and lots of memories throughout this trip... But all and all... we had manage to seize the day... 'CARPE DIEM' la bak kate dead poet society!!

hmm... what to do??
we decided to go south this time... spending 9 days away from leeds... from the 11th to the 19th... yeaaaaaaaa!!! we started by visiting cardiff... shef and ck is there... shef went back to malaysia a day after we came... so ck is the only tour guide then onwards... brought us to welsh village and so so many castle!!!... wales is rich with the ancient castle... and they are goegeous... 'bila la bley hidup dalam castle?"... heh.. just a thought... then we headed to southampton where kak wan and khim is... though we didn't actually see khim there... anyway, while we're in shouthampton... we get to visit the stonehenge... always wonder how it actually looks like and at last...  ... it's in front of my eyes... but we can't actually get very close to it because everbody can only walk around it...  ... then, kak wan took us to the isle of wight... an island which is famous for pearls... hmm... manage to bought my mum a brooch made of pearls... ... we also visited bournemouth and get on the hot air ballon...  ... yesss!!... really like the view from high above... so blisffully beautiful!!... especially because it is by the seaside... hmm...
the trip is marvellousss!!!... i'm lovin it...

we headed to york for sight seeing...
and that's when the snow began to fall...
it falls and falls...
the white snow flakes...
on our heads and shoulders...
it falls and falls...
until the grounds are covered...
with the fresh white snow...
all of us are excited...
